How Long Do Metal Braces Take?
The amount of time it takes braces to shift teeth into position is different for every patient, but in most cases, it ranges between 12 and 24 months. Our team will be able to determine the expected treatment time during the initial consultation. We take impressions of the top and bottom teeth before placing the brackets and wires that will gradually reposition your child’s smile. Follow-up appointments every six weeks will allow us to make sure that everything’s on track, and to make any necessary adjustments. After the treatment is complete, we’ll provide retainers to make sure that their teeth will stay in alignment long-term.

Do Metal Braces Damage Teeth? Are they Painful?
Many patients worry that the traditional braces could be painful, but that’s fortunately not the case. The initial procedure is effectively painless. During the first few weeks of wearing braces, it’s common to experience some soreness. However, once your child adjusts, the discomfort will quickly fade. You also don’t have to worry about braces damaging the enamel on their teeth. As long as they continue to brush regularly, they’ll be able to easily maintain their dental health.

How Much Do Braces Cost?
Compared to other orthodontic treatments like clear aligners, traditional metal braces are typically more affordable. Tots to Teens also offers flexible payment options to make your child’s braces affordable. We accept most dental insurances, but even if you don’t have insurance there are still great options like CareCredit to help finance treatment. To learn more, visit our financial page!
